Just made another reservation a little while ago. I'll be at the Fontana Village campground June 18 thru July 2, and maybe thru the 5th. I've always wanted to stay there and have only visited it once before. I have lots of memories of Fontana with my old high school buddy David Rickman. We had many fine times there.
The pic for today has nothing to do with what I just wrote. It's my good friend Alan on fishing outing just before I left Raleigh. He caught it on a fly rod, which was fun to watch. I caught one the week before that was a little bit bigger than this one. Of course Alan says his fish is bigger, but he's a lawyer so what do you expect? I miss my good friend & hope we can get together before too long.

ReplyDeleteFontana should be interesting. My family went there for vacation one year; you know left Asheville for a trip to the mountains. :-) If you can arrange it get a boat over to Hazel or Forney Creeks for some serious backcountry fishing. Beautiful country. Read some Horace Kephart while you are there to be in the right historical space.
I put your package in the mail again. Hiope you and the Post Office can connect this time. I miss you, too.
