Tink, Trilliam and Trout

Tinkerbell and her favorite toy on a cold day.

Tink meets her first Maine Coon cat.  The cat outweighs her by a bunch!

A painted trilliam next to the trail today.  They are plentiful here!

A lovely and delicious trout sandwich at Wicked Weed brewery in Asheville.  A terrific place with great food, good beer and ambiance.  Oh yeah!

Opening Day at the Cradle

Saturday, April 13 was opening day for the season at the Forest Discovery Center at the Cradle of Forestry.  And what a day it was!  Gorgeous weather, large turnout and wonderful demonstrations of mountain ways, including the plowing of the garden with a team of Percheron's.

Then there was Larry at the foot-powered lathe with a potential young apprentice.

And then there were the music makers...oh yeah!  What a fine day!

Fred's Travels Returns

For whatever reason, I'm unable to upload pictures to facebook, so I'm restarting the blog so I can share some of my better pics with family and friends.  As always, your comments and encouragement are welcome.  Enjoy!

Hugh came to Florida for a visit in March and we had a fine time!  He found a fast connection with this old tree at Myakka River State Park and had another quick connection with a pretty lady in the gift shop.  But that's another story.
He and I went to Sebring for the big race and it was very exciting.  And it was a gorgeous day!
Barbara and Trey came to St. Pete Beach for a weekend getaway so of course we had to go see them.  Although short, it was a very nice visit.
At the Six Pence Pub in Savannah, Ga.  Great place.  Felt like being in London.
Lynn and Tinkerbell on the beach at Hilton Head.  Great visit with the Crowders.
Opening day at Lake Powhatan, April 6.  Caught my limit (7) and this 15" the biggest.
Lynn at Antler Hill, Biltmore House winery.  Oh yeah!
A bluebird at Biltmore, at the barn.
Sliding Rock after a heavy rainstorm the night before.  Big water!  Very big water!  No sliding this day!

Coming Monday:  good shots from opening day at the Forest Discovery Center, where we work and live for a short while.
