North Roosevelt Park, ND

This morning, July 5, I'm in Shelby, Montana and catching up on my blogs.  So the dates you see on the blogs don't necessarily match the date of the events I describe.  I had no wifi signal in Medora, except before 6am, and I won't have one in West Glacier, my next destination.  Hence the catching up.  I doubt there will be a signal in Yellowstone, but who knows.  I haven't had a cell phone signal in over a week, as I don't think Virgin Mobile has any presence in this part of the world.

There were 2 lonely bull bison in this part of the park and they were spectacular.  This one was dusting himself in the heat of the day and looked like he was going to charge at any moment.  So I stayed on the Burg, motor running, just in case.

The smell of clover, sweet grass and just good ole clean air permeated this park.  The wildflower blooms added their color to the soil, sands, trees and grasses.  What a place.

I asked a passerby to snap this pic of me playing Atlas, then gazing over the valley.  I stayed there for quite a while, just enjoying the view and the silence.  It may have been the quietest place I'd ever experienced.

I'm not sure if this was a petrified log or not, but it sure looked like one.

It was hard to capture the expanse of the view, but I tried.  The hand of God is in evidence everywhere you look around here and it is easy to feel that presence.  Life is good!  So very good!
