Wild Horses-2

Then I made my next mistake - stomping my foot on the pavement to try and get the mud off.  Well, mud flew everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, including up my shorts.  Luckily I wasn't going commando that day or I would have had mud on some sensitive places.  Once it dried, it took 20 minutes of scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush under running water to remove the stuff.  And this was early in a 3 hour ride!
I had walked off the road and looked up to see these horses nuzzling.  In a few minutes, the stallion came along shaking his head up and down, then these two did the same thing.

The same woman who had helped me get unstuck was also at this overlook watching the horses, which seemed fascinated with her and began walking straight to her.

There was a stallion, 2 mares and a colt.  I cautioned the lady not to get too close and she finally moved off to the side.  But she clearly wanted to pet one, which would not have been a good idea at all.

Later I looked in the book "Animal Speak" for a better understanding of what might have been going on between the lady and the stallion.  Here is what it had to say:  The keynotes are travel, power and freedom.  If a horse has shown up in your life, it may be time to examine aspects of travel and freedom within your life.  Are you feeling constricted?  Do you need to move on or allow others to move on?  Is it time to assert your freedom and your power in new ideas?  Horse brings with it new journeys.  It will teach you how to ride into new directions to awaken and discover your own freedom and power.  Safe travels, pretty lady.

That day I also saw golden eagles, a mule deer and more prairie dogs than I could count.  And then there were the wild flowers.  Their smell permeated the air and riding the Burg was like a dream.

That evening I had a nice, long conversation with a neighbor in the RV park.  And when we were done, he thanked me for my service to our country.  I was speechless, literally.  That is such a rare occurrence that I didn't know what to say, and finally I muttered, "you're welcome."
This is the view from my camp site, and quite a view it is.  I'll be leaving here shortly, headed for Glacier National Park.  It will take a couple of days and I'm looking forward to it.

Now I'm only 2 postings behind.  But the notes are made and the pic numbers listed, so I just need a good connection for a little while to be caught up.  Perhaps tonight I'll have one.  Thanks for stopping by!  The adventure continues...
