Yellowstone at Last!

July 10, 2011
The "wow" factor is off the charts!  That's how many times I say it any given day, and today was huge.  There are clear streams, steam coming from the ground, buffalo everywhere, prairies, marshes, rock cliffs - it has it all!

Got a 7 day fishing license, as I just couldn't be here and not fish these beautiful streams and lakes.  No way.  Of course I had to get a couple of the most popular lures, recommended by the "local" expert.  I used to ask my partner Mac Southerland, after buying a new lure, if he thought it would catch anything.  And he would always reply, "it caught you didn't it!"  He had a way with words, that's for sure.  So I'll go fishing in the morning and try out the new lures and license.

I briefly visited the Yellowstone Lake Lodge and discovered a Sunday evening worship service going on.  It had already begun, and as I entered they were singing "How Great Thou Art" as I looked through the windows onto the lake and mountains in the background, thinking the same thing.  Our creator is so great that we cannot comprehend it, except through the creation.  I miss Jubilee!  A lot.  I still listen, but I miss being there.

Went fishing this morning.  It was 43 degrees!  It was more like a nice walk with a fishing pole.  The elevation here is 7766, so I'm easily winded and ready for a rest after breakfast.  Oh yeah!
